Duties include the following: Performs daily checks of all public areas utilizing checklists; Reports all maintenance required to the Maintenance Department and follows up to verify that the work has been completed; Spot checks the work performed by the Housepersons, Room Attendants, Supervisors and Laundry Attendants to ensure both productivity and quality of work; Performs a detailed check of up to 5 guest rooms each day, takes action to rectify all problems that do not meet Hotel cleaning and guestroom standards; Checks all VIP rooms prior to arrival and set up according to standards; Prepares weekly work schedules based on occupancy forecast; Issues daily work assignments & special instructions to Supervisors & Housepersons; Operates department consistent with Hotel cleanliness and guestroom standards, keeps operating costs low while maintaining quality; Responsible for managing the Hotel’s re-cycling program i.e. collection of recycled items throughout the hotel.

    Requirements:

    • Strong oral and written communication skills in English

    Qualifications:

    • Two years supervisory experience in a Hotel Housekeeping Department is preferred
    • Degree/diploma in hospitality preferred or Hospitality industry courses in Hotel Management
    • Ability to communicate with a variety of people for whom English is not their first language
