Information:

A well known leading grocery store is seeking to hire Assistant Purchasing Specialist (Meat / Seafood) for their grocery department. Duties and responsibilities include:

• Negotiate and replenish fresh & frozen meat or seafood products at competitive market price, while ensuring accurate delivery
• Establish pricing guidelines and maintain sales plus gross profit expectations
• Develop and maintain vendor partnership, programs, sponsorships, and in-store promotions
• Assist in product category review and analysis to ensure sales and profitability
• Generate reports and perform analysis on product selection, sales, pricing, market reports, and other related data

 Requirements:

• Strong technical knowledge of product categories, specification, pricing, including Canadian meat and poultry product regulations, CFIA regulations and mandatory standards required
• Proven negotiation skills with a minimum of 3 years experience in meat or seafood procurement for supermarket chain stores
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is an asset
