About Mentoring Connections
Mentoring Connections brings together skilled immigrants (mentees) and established professionals (mentors) in the Greater Vancouver area.
Mentors offer career-focused encouragement and guidance to skilled immigrants to help them establish their careers in Canada.
Mentoring Connections is a flexible and rewarding volunteering opportunity. Mentors have the opportunity to share their valuable knowledge and experience by
- acquainting mentees with Canadian workplace culture and the Canadian labour market in the mentor's field
- giving industry-specific advice on training and educational opportunities, licensing requirements, and regulations
- discussing networking strategies
- helping mentees gain self-confidence as they transition to the Canadian workforce.
For employers, Mentoring Connections is a valuable opportunity. By encouraging your employees to become mentors, you will expand their leadership skills, build cross-cultural knowledge, and connect with a pool of talented immigrants.
Helping immigrant professionals achieve their full potential is a key strategy to address the growing skilled labour shortage in BC.
